Bio: 

Natan T. Shaked is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, Israel. Till April 2011, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA. Shaked’s group performs multidisciplinary research involving optical engineering, interferometric imaging and sensing in biological systems, artificial intelligence (AI), and biophysics. He aims at developing new experimental and analytical tools for label-free quantitative cell imaging while harnessing novel AI approaches. Shaked is the coauthor of more than 100 refereed journal papers and 170 conference papers (including more than 30 keynote or invited papers), and several book chapters, patents, and an edited book. He is chairing the SPIE Label-Free Imaging and Sensing (LBIS) Conference in SPIE Photonics West, San Francisco, USA, and a Fellow in the Optical Society of America (OSA) and a Fellow in the SPIE.
